Galena Sweater - Large
The Galena Sweater. Designed by me and named after a beautiful Galena pass in Central Idaho. Galena pass connects two of my favorite valleys and is a gateway to the grand Idaho wilderness. The views from the top of the pass are unreal, as you behold rugged, pine covered mountain ranges as far as the eye can see.
This sweater was designed for mountain adventures in mind. It is hand knit with bulky merino wool, which means that it is buttery soft and insulating. The yarn is sourced from South America and hand dyed.
The color of this sweater is most accurately depicted in the first 3 photos. The blue is a bright, light blue, with red and salmon pink accents.
I knit this sweater while on a hot springs trip in Stanley, Idaho with some of my dearest girl friends and our little kids. This trip was so magical. We even saw the northern lights for the first time, and since there is no light pollution in that area, it was unreal.
This sweater is sized as a large, but the beauty of hand knit items is the stitches will settle to whatever size you need it to be. I often wear my sweaters over a jacket or coat, so it will stretch to fit as you wear it over time - and it WILL last a long time.
Truly, genuinely made with love, xoxo Shalea
